What is Pilates?
Pilates is a fitness regimen developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates. The pilates movements are gentle yet challenging. The series focuses on proper alignment, flexibilty, core strength and mobility promoting overall health and wellbeing. Pilates exercises can be done on a mat or various pieces of equipment.

What is the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®?
The Gyrotonic method was founded by dancer and gymnast, Juliu Horvath. This unique system offers the same benefits also derived from yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming and tai chi, but is not derived from these exercises modalities. Gyrotonic exercises both strengthen, stretch, and stimulate the muscles and connective tissues while maintaining maximum range of motion within the joints in the body. Corresponding breathing patterns are used during the performance of the exercises, thereby increasing coordination, endurance and aerobic activity. This combination of breath, rhythm and freedom of movement allows for a dance like quality.
